Grand Valley State took on their nearby rival Western Michigan this weekend and came away with a sweep! Saturday, the Lady Lakers won 6-2 and claimed victory again on Sunday with a 7-0 win. Meanwhile, UofM took on Miami in Ann Arbor, MI. Last year, these two teams met ending in a 12-1 UM win but the Redhawks were determined to show their improvement and they did just that with a 5-5 tie on Saturday. The two teams went on to a UM win 4-1 on Sunday.

As promised, 2012 has started with a bang and brought the first of, what will surely prove to be, many new changes to the CCWHA this year. Robert Morris and Ohio State faced off for the first time in league play and while RMU was victorious on Saturday, Sunday proved to be a whole different game. An overtime goal scored by newcomer Amanda Boskovich proved to be the deciding differeince in the first victory over Robert Morris in Ohio State team history!

2011 brought many exciting changes to the CCWHA with the arrival of the Miami Redhawks and the departure of the Lindenwood Lions.The Lions moved on to the NCAA to pursue bigger ambitions, leaving large shoes for the remaining teams to fill. As 2011 ticks away, MSU guards 1st place with Robert Morris just 1 point behind them. In other news, the 2011 ACHA National Champion was Michigan State University, only the 3rd team to acheive this honor in the past 8 years. WIth all of these exciting events, only time will tell what 2012 holds for the league!
